1. What This Policy Covers
This policy explains how Tchatche handles personal information across the website, the mobile browser version and related services. By using the site you confirm that you have read it. If you disagree with it, please stop using Tchatche.
It covers what we collect, how we use and protect it, when we share it, the choices you have, and how public content is treated.
2. What We Collect
We collect information so we can run and improve the service. It falls into three groups.
Information you give us
- Account details if you create an account: email address, username, display name, password and optional profile details.
- Content you create or share, such as messages and anything else you publish.
- Communications with us, such as support requests and feedback.
- Payment information if you buy coins or other items. Payments are handled by third-party providers, and we do not store full card numbers.
Information collected automatically
- Device data: device type, operating system, browser and identifiers.
- Usage data: pages visited, features used and referring links.
- Location: an approximate location from your IP address or, with your consent, more precise location from your device.
- Logs: your IP address, access times and system activity.
Information from other services
- Social login: if you sign in with another service, we may receive your name, email address and profile picture from it.
- Analytics partners: aggregated or anonymised data about how the site is used.
3. How We Use It
- To run the service: operate the site, process transactions and deliver the features you ask for.
- To tailor your experience: content suggestions, match suggestions and interface preferences.
- To communicate: service notices, replies to your questions and customer support.
- To keep people safe: detect fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To improve: study usage patterns, fix bugs and plan new features.
- To meet legal duties: comply with the law and protect users and the public.
4. What Others Can See
Some information is designed to be seen by other people. On a live call, the other person sees and hears what you show and say. Content you make public may be viewed, shared and indexed by search engines. You can delete content, but cached copies may persist in search results or other services for a while.
If you would rather share less, read the notes on anonymous video chat and the safety guide for habits that limit what a stranger can learn about you.
5. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to remember information when you use the site.
- Essential cookies keep the site working, including sign-in, security and sessions.
- Performance cookies give us anonymous usage data so we can see how the site is used.
- Functional cookies remember preferences such as language and display options.
You can manage or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some of them may affect how parts of the site work.
6. Who We Share Data With
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these cases:
- With your consent, when you ask us to.
- With service providers that help us run the site, such as hosting, payments and analytics, under confidentiality obligations.
- When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Tchatche, our users or the public.
- In a business change such as a merger or sale of assets.
- As aggregated data that cannot reasonably identify you.
7. How Long We Keep It
We keep personal information for as long as we need it to run the service, meet legal duties, settle disputes and enforce our agreements. While an account is active, we keep its information. When you delete an account, we remove or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable time, unless the law requires us to keep it. Content that others interacted with may be kept in anonymised form, and some records may be kept longer for legal, tax or regulatory reasons.
8. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may be able to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your data, subject to legal exceptions.
- Ask for a portable, machine-readable copy.
- Opt out of marketing messages at any time.
- Ask us to restrict how we use your data in certain cases.
To make a request, write to support[at]tchatche.online (replace [at] with @). Our contact page says what to include. We will answer within a reasonable time and in line with the law.
9. Age Limit
Tchatche is not for anyone under 18, or under the minimum age in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from people below that age. If we learn we have, we will delete it as soon as we reasonably can. If you think a young person has sent us information, please write to us at the address in section 8.
10. How We Protect Data
We use technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information from unauthorised access, change, disclosure or loss. These include encryption in transit and at rest, security assessments, access controls, secure storage on industry-standard infrastructure and staff training. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and be careful what you share.
11. Links to Other Services
Tchatche may link to or work with outside services for sign-in, payments, analytics, content delivery, hosting and support. This policy does not cover them. Each has its own privacy practices, and we suggest you read them.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our practices, technology or legal duties change. For material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and give notice through the site or by email. Using Tchatche after a change means you accept the updated policy.
